Mum Finished the Race.. 24/4/08

Story of a Prayer Warrior

What is a prayer warrior? Some of you may ask, a prayer warrior is someone who prays to God fervently for those around her. Always thinking of others before her, always keeping in close contact with Jesus through prayer. Intimacy with Christ has always been on my mum’s mind, even through the darkest moment in life. She never cease to look up to Jesus above all things, and doing her quiet time, reading the bible and ministering to others in need.

My Dad and Mum has been married for over 30 years sharing good times and bad, bearing with one another and showing their love to us. They stayed true to their marriage vow and only through death did they part. The love that they shared its overwhelming and infectious, this is how I saw God’s love in them and in their lifes. I believe their lifes has touch many hearts, and have ministered to many as well. My Mum’s greatest hope is for her brothers and sisters to come to Christ and experience God’s goodness.

During the times where I swayed away from Christ, not attending church, cell groups, not praying, being defiant towards my dad and her. Still she persisted and constantly prayed for me never ceasing. Break through came when I finally returned to Christ, I give thanks to the Lord for bringing me back. As this episode brought me closer to my Mum and my family instead of away from them.

My parents could not even talk to me in the past, but upon returning back to Jesus. I shared many precious moments with my Mum, telling her of the many testimonies that the Lord has showered me. The many wonders that the Lord has showed me, and his amazing love for all of us here on earth. We could instead of watching TV, just sit and chat in the living room about how great is our God. Sharing visions that my mum had, sharing God’s word and how His word worked in our lives, how His word saved our family through many dark moments even my birth and my sister’s birth is a testimony in itself. Its through these sharing that I came to know of how hard she and my dad has been praying for my sister and I. She is very glad that I have returned to seek Jesus just like the story of the prodigal son.

Looking back, she has always reminded us that our life here is only temporal and not permanent. There will be a time when she as well as my dad will depart us, there is always casual talk about who will be going home 1st between my parents. We always would shun it aside and say not to talk rubbish. As much as it is a taboo topic to talk about, death comes to all.

And what happens after death? Many of us may ask, but for some of us we do not know. Some of us know that with death comes eternal life, a life so wonderful I cannot even express it in words. The life of which we will be with God, where there is no longer any sicknesses, suffering, hurt, pain. Where there will be dancing, praises and worship. Best of all we can see Jesus face to face, able to enjoy his presence through eternity. This is the place that all of us would want to go, and there are many of us here who have already made reservations and when the time comes and by the will of God. We will meet up there again, and experiencing God’s wonders in an even more intimate way.

Matthew 6:19-21 Do not lay up treasures on earth for yourselves, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.
But lay up treasures in Heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

My parents have done so much in inculcating so much love in me and my sister’s life, we would like to thank them for all the love. I want to give thanks to the Lord when he told me to hug my parents and tell them how much I love them. Its never easy in our asian culture. But I manage to hug both of my parents one night before going to bed, telling them how much I love them.

I encourage all of my relatives and friends, love one another tell those who you care about how much you love them. Give them a hug, treasure every moment. Don’t wait till something happens and regret that you never did it. Every little single details in our life we should treasure it, I am glad I did. There are times we take things for granted, but let it not be a grief to us. For there is a much greater love we know of, and that is the Love of Jesus for all of us. His Agape Love a love so infinite no human mind can comprehend, His love extends to all even to those who do not know Him yet.

My mum used to tell us this verse when we were young, and today I shall share it to all who are still children, the bible says;

Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ, we have to learn to love one another as Jesus loves us. The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy. Are we going to let him have his way or we do it God’s way? I hear of much division in different churches as well as in my own, yes there maybe differences in opinions. But let us not and never use the word of God to tear one another down;

Rom 15: 4-7 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, so that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. And may the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like minded toward one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one mind and one mouth you may glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore receive one an
other as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.

His word is to be used for edification. Let us not Judge who is right and wrong in;

Mat 7: 1-5 Judge not, that you may not be judged. For with whatever judgment you judge, you shall be judged; and with whatever measure you measure out, it shall be measured to you again.
And why do you look on the splinter that is in your brother's eye, but do not consider the beam that is in your own eye?
Or how will you say to your brother, Let me pull the splinter out of your eye; and, behold, a beam is in your own eye?
Hypocrite! First cast the beam out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to cast the splinter out of your broth
er's eye.

During this episode, the Lord has shown me a wonderful view that many may not have witness and I thank God for it. I saw the body of Christ uniting together from different churches offering support and help. All differences being set aside and coming to aid a fellow brother and sister in Christ. This is what the Lord wants of his people, to be united and in one voice. Seeking the Lord and setting aside all differences

Phillipians 2:1-4 If there is therefore any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tenderness’s and mercies, then fulfill my joy, that you may be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord and of one mind.
Let
nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Do not let each man look upon his own things, but each man also on the things of others.

My mum a great wife to my dad, lived her life according to how the Lord wants her to live as in the bible reads;

1Peter 3:1 Likewise, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that if any do not obey the Word, they may also be won without the Word by the conduct of the wives,

My Dad being obedient to God’s word, and loving my Mum to his every heart beat, and every second of his time. Although being married for so many years, they were still loving like the first love they experienced.

Eph 5:25-28 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it, that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, that He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, without spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish. So men ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Jesus has always been the head of the house hold in our home, and many miracles have been experienced in His grace. There is a better place called heaven, where we have a choice given by God. If only we can open our hearts and mind, and let the Lord speak to us. I know that we can all experience God in ways beyond our comprehension.

Hebrews 12: 1-2 Therefore since we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God.

Phillipians 3:20-21 For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which also we are looking for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall change our body of humiliation so that it may be fashioned like His glorious body, according to the working of His power, even to subdue all things to Himself.

My Mum the prayer warrior has finished the race. I believe Jesus has received her up in heaven, embracing her in his arms saying “Well done good and faithful one.” Lord help us to let her know that all is well here and we will see her again when its time for us to return home. We love you mum, you will be greatly missed and we will see you again up in heaven when our time is up.

Jesus loves you..

Lots of Love,
Samuel Kwok

Revisit to the world of Blogs..

I guess this will be the 2nd attempt to try out the blogging world, this time round I guess I will have more time to let my friends know what have been happening to me etc.. I believe that somewhere along, I would be traveling around the world.
In hope to spread God's word and love also to minister to those who do not have the luxury to even enjoy the simple basic needs of life.
There is more to life than just making money..
